Steven B. Sandler, M.D.

 

Dr. Sandler is in private practice in Albany, N.Y. He was formerly Professor of

Psychiatry at Albany Medical Center. He specializes in the field of individual psychotherapy. For the past thirty years, he has been practicing and teaching an approach called Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy.

  

Dr. Sandler received his M.D. degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, and completed residencies at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse (pediatrics) and Albany (psychiatry). Dr. Sandler's first career was as a teacher in small, independent schools, and he has always been interested in the education of young children. In 1995, he became a founding parent of Bethlehem Children’s School in Slingerlands, New York (near Albany).
